Lakers level series

THIS TIME the collapse wasn’t costly.

Lumber Company Lakers blew yet another big lead, just not the game, having survived their latest meltdown in Thursday’s series-levelling 77-72 victory over Orange 3 Pinelands in the Co-operators General Insurance Premier League Basketball Finals at the Barbados Community College.

It was the fifth blown lead in as many playoff games this post-season for Lakers, who threw away Game 1 and a 23-point advantage before threatening to do the same in Game 2 after going up 59-42 in the third quarter.

They were even up big in the fourth while holding what seemed an unassailable 65-50 cushion. (JM)
