Fogging schedule September 18 to 22

THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH’S Vector Control Unit’s efforts to control the spread of dengue and other mosquito borne diseases continues next week, when a number of districts across Barbados will be fogged.

On Monday, September 18, the following districts in St Andrew, St Joseph and St John will be fogged: Coggins Hill, Chalky Mount, Cambridge, Bissex, Coconut Grove, Parks Road and neighbouring districts. In St John, the team will fog: College Land, Sargeant Street and the environs.

The following day, Tuesday, September 19, the Vector Control team will move to St Peter and spray: Gays, Mount No.1, Mount No.2, Boscobelle, Boscobelle Terrace, Collins, Collins Tenantry and surrounding districts.

On Wednesday, September 20, the team will conduct fogging operations in Christ Church and will target: Atlantic Shores, Coral Drive, Pearl Drive, Spring Terrace, Light House Lane, Oyster Crescent, Seaside Drive, Ocean Mist Close and the environs.

The Vector Control Unit will be in St Philip on Thursday, September 21, and the areas of concentration will be: Long Bay Development, Atlantic Park, Park Road with Avenues, Belair Cross Road, Belair Terrace with Avenues, Crane Haven, Crane and neighbouring districts.

The team will conclude operations in St Michael on Friday, September 22, and will fog: Dunlow Lane, Collymore Rock, Jemmotts Lane, St Paul’s Avenue, Evelyn Avenue, Grant’s Avenue, Bay Gardens, Culloden Road and the environs.

The fogging operations run from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. each day, and residents are reminded to open their windows and doors to allow the fog to penetrate.

Parents are reminded that children should desist from playing in the fog, or running behind the fogging machine. (BGIS)
