HAMILTON – A 36-year-old Bulgarian national was remanded in custody on Monday after he appeared in Magistrates’ Court where he was charged with a credit card skimming plot.

Danail Damov was charged with a raft of offences, including two counts of having equipment to print fake credit and debit cards and damaging Bank of Butterfield ATMs at Collector’s Hill and Paget Plaza.

The Collector’s Hill ATM was allegedly tampered with on September 4, 2016, while the Paget machine was damaged on October 13, 2016.

Damov was further charged with sending credit or debit card details abroad and having a drill for the purposes of committing an offence.

He was not required to enter a plea as the matter must be heard in Supreme Court.

Senior Magistrate Juan Wolffe remanded Damov until November 1, when he is set to appear before the Supreme Court. (CMC)
