Road tennis thriving in St Vincent

Road tennis is beginning to flourish on the island of St Vincent.

That’s the view president of the Professional Road Tennis Association, Dale Clarke, after the second staging of the Capita Financial SVG Road Tennis Blast on the island.

He told NATION SPORT the competition, which was staged in association with the Ministry of Sport, Youth and Culture had grown significantly since its inaugural staging last year.

“It was very successful. We built on what we started last year. They are really excelling, the level of play throughout the country has risen and there have been tremendous strides in the techniques. In the first year we were now taking the game there so the technique wasn’t there but after staging the clinics there was an overall improvement. We were anticipating a competitive year,” he said.  (RG)
