Held at Copacabana, dubbed the first official fete for Crop Over, King Bubba’s Illuminate brought Fire and Ice as its theme this year.

For the second straight year it was pure soca vibes for the party, with a little bit of dancehall, hip hop, and R&B in the form of DJ Puffy, Scratch Master and the one and only Fatman Scoop who had the crowd applauding as he took off his shirt.

From midnight Saturday, the jam-packed line-up was about Caribbean unity as Lavaman, Teddysonjohn, Ricardo Drue, Skinny Fabulous, Sekon Sta represented from the region with king of the dancehall Beenie Man joining the lineup.

Homegrown talent was King Bubba himself, Lil Rick, Marzville, Boatman, Peter Ram, Fadda Fox and Jus D. Standing tall for the ladies was Nikita.

Riddim Tribe brought the energy with their skills and acrobatic feats of dancing.

At the end of the event, at 4:15 Sunday morning, most of the artistes took their final bow, holding different flags of the region. (NS)
