Smokey Burke hospitalised

Reports are that veteran calypsonian Smokey Burke has been hospitalised.

NATIONNEWS understands that Burke, who is a finalist in this year’s Pic-O-De-Crop competition, fell ill on Sunday and had to be transported to the hospital.

The finals will take place this coming Friday at Kensington Oval and it is not clear if Burke will be able to perform. (DB)
