Today’s memorial service for Dr Waldo Walrond-Ramsay was a thanksgiving service in every sense of the word.

Family, friends, legal fraternity, politicians and everyday members of the public who had been touched by the life of Walrond-Ramsay, all paid their respects to the iconic son of the soil they all described as humble.

Walrond-Ramsay, a Queen’s Counsel, passed away on Tuesday, leaving an esteemed legacy having been the first High Commissioner to London, Representative of Barbados to the United Nations and an attorney-at-law for over 50 years.

While they were some tears at the service, the general feeling at the Coral Ridge Memorial Gardens was one of appreciation and a joyous occasion as those gathered recounted their experiences with the recently deceased 88-year-old. (AD)
