The Bajans were relegated to Group 2 after a suffering a crushing 4-0 defeat by Ecuador yesterday at the National Tennis Centre.
After losing both singles contests on Friday, they needed to win the doubles match to keep their hopes alive, but Darian King and Haydn Lewis were outclassed by the pair of left-handers Gonzalo Escobar and Diego Hidalgo and lost 6-4, 7-6 before rookie Xavier Lawrence was swept aside Diego Hidalgo 6-0, 6-1.
