Barbadian sports broadcaster Alex Jordan has signed off as co-host of the popular Sports Max Zone show in Jamaica.

On Wednesday, Jordan took to the television set for the final time in an emotional show after spending four years at Sports Max.

“My heart is heavy. It has been a family and an absolute privilege to sit on this desk with the likes of Lance Whittaker and George Davis. I am grateful to sports max for the opportunity,” Jordan told viewers while occasionally wiping away tears from her face.

Speaking glowing about her work and tremendous contribution to sports coverage during her tenure, host Lance Whittaker said, “ Alex has been a staple on the sports max zone, it is unquestionably emotional for us to see you go, Alex. Many memories we had and we remember that sports max will always be your home. The zone will always be your family,” he said.

Also paying tribute to Jordan was Head of Marketing at Sports Max Tanya Lee, who reminisced on a number of friendly conversations the two had together.

“I think I will miss just having some honest conversations with Alex. She was fun, alert and incredibly smart. I have always enjoyed talking to her about a myriad of things, anything related to struggles women have: whether it is the workplace or sports. I am going to miss that about her.”

Before taking up her position at Sports Max, Jordan worked at Slam 101.1 FM on weekday mornings with her colleague Salt during the Alex Jordan Morning Show. (AGB)
