Men charged in connection with million-dollar drug bust remanded

THREE men charged with importing 650 pounds of cannabis earlier this month were remanded when they appeared in the District ‘C’ St Matthias Magistrates’ court today.

Forty-six-year-old Curtis Wendell Bascombe of Wotton Terrace, Christ Church, Desmond ‘Braveboy’ Raphael, 48, of Coles Close Merricks St Philip both fisherman and Leibert McDonald Brathwaite a 58-year-old general worker of Hunte’s Street, Baxters Road, St Michael were charged with possession, trafficking, possession with intent to supply and importation of cannabis on November 25.

They were remanded to HMP Dodds until December 12. The drugs have an estimated street value of $1.182 million. (HLE)
