Tourism officials and some of the people who worked to restore Sunbury Plantation House to its former glory as a national treasure, were present for the ribbon-cutting ceremony and cocktail reception marking the re-opening recently.
The St Philip plantation great house is now owned by the Ince family and is once again a major attraction for Barbadians and visitors, with its collection of antique treasures, an upgraded courtyard and beautifully landscaped grounds.
Minister of Tourism Kerrie Symmonds deputised for Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley with the cutting of the ribbon, but the PM did take a brief break from a parliamentary session later, to attend the event. (GC)
