Chase hundred not enough as England seal massive win

GROS ISLET – Roston Chase struck his fifth Test hundred but West Indies crashed to a heavy 232-run defeat to England, on the penultimate day of the third and final Test here Tuesday.

Resuming from a tea time position of 136 for six, the Windies were dismissed for 252, about 20 minutes before the scheduled close.

He brought up three figures in the penultimate over of the match when he cut part-time bowler Joe Denly to the ropes.

Chase put on 46 for the seventh wicket with Kemar Roach who made 29 off 43 deliveries, before adding a further 56 for the eighth wicket with Alzarri Joseph whose cavalier 34 came from 30 balls and included two fours and three sixes.

England had earlier declared their second innings on 361 for five after captain Joe Root, resuming the day on 111, was dismissed for 122.
