Dane leads by 64 secs

“Holding off Panton.”

That’s how Dane Skeete and co-driver Tyler Mayhew plan to deal with today’s final ten stages of the Barbados Rally Club’s 30th international event, Sol Rally Barbados 2019.

The pair, in their first major event in the WRC group and at the wheel of the Sol/CO Williams Sand & Lime/Automotive Art Subaru Impreza WRC S12B, hold a one minute, four seconds advantage over last year’s champions Jamaica’s Jeff Panton and Mike Fennell Jr, in the Rubis/Sandals Barbados/KIG Ford Focus WRC06, as crews head to the startline at Sagicor Kendal today at 9:35 a.m.

Skeete and Mayhew will start the final stages with a time of 42 minutes, 34.07 seconds compared with their rivals’ 43 minutes, 29.24 seconds, while the British pair of Roger Duckworth and Mark Broomfield, in the Technia Subaru Impreza WRC S6, are third with a time of 43 minutes, 55.28 seconds.
