There is great hope for a rebound of amateur basketball in Barbados.
But what can make the difference between missing the hoop and scoring that shot is the availability of resources.
Recently, during the Higher Level training camp for teenage basketballers between the ages of 14 and 18, it was once again brought to the front court how badly Barbadian players lack supplies and a home which they can call their own.
American coach Darryl Denson, who conducted the camp, said though the players were willing to learn, they should have access to their own courts for practice.
“Basketball needs a home. It’s like a human being. Humans need a roof over their head. . . ,” he explained. (EZS)
