A person or persons purporting to be Minister of Health and Wellness Jeffrey Bostic have been calling local business houses soliciting funds on behalf of people “in need of urgent medical attention overseas”.

The Ministry is advising members of the public it does not solicit funds from the public in this manner and should report any telephone calls of this nature to the Royal Barbados Police Force.

Meanwhile, Bostic expressed shock that anyone would seek to impersonate him to defraud others, and assured the public that the matter had been reported to the police and was under investigation. (PR/SAT)
