UPDATE: Man injured in shooting at Vauxhall

A 47-year-old man was the victim of Monday night’s shooting at 2nd Avenue, Vauxhall, Christ Church.

Chesterfield Yearwood, of the same address, was reportedly sitting on a bench with some men in a track not far from his home when the incident occurred around 9:10 p.m.

A police release said some men were observed walking along the track towards an unoccupied house near where the men were sitting.

These men approached the victim and a scuffle ensued, during which two loud explosions were heard. Yearwood received injuries to his right elbow and left hip and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance.
