Sort out the long-standing issues or we will withdraw our services.

That was the unanimous cry from security officers of G4S Secure Solutions (Barbados) Ltd, who issued the ultimatum to their employer following a more than two-hour closed-door meeting on Wednesday evening at the Barbados Workers’ Union, Solidarity House, St Michael headquarters.

President of G4S/BWU division Ormond Mayers told the newspaper security officers had given the security company until the end of the month to deal with the issues.

“Between now and the end of the month, we must see some movement towards coming back to the table and looking to make a settlement before the year is out. This is six years now we ain’t had an increase. The issue is paying officers below the negotiated wage between the union and the company.” (RA)
