Squatters in Welch Village and Bath Land, St John are one step closer to becoming property owners.
They received offers to purchase letters yesterday, an early Christmas present for most.
Minister in the Ministry of Housing, Charles Griffith, who is also MP for the area, and his assistants distributed 22 forms.
Donnette Bennett, who spoke on behalf of her husband, said he was living in the area for more than 20 years. She said the land had special value as it was the home in which the couple started their family. (SB)
