Harewood, Hoyte off to US

Rosette Hoyte and Yuriko Harewood are both on their way to making their mark in the United States, having secured athletic scholarships to Lindenwood University in Saint Charles, Missouri.

Still in shock, Hoyte told Sunsport she would miss her family and friends but was pleased that her hard work had paid off.

“I have mixed feelings knowing that I am leaving on Sunday because I am going to miss my family and friends. It costs me a lot of hard work and commitment for sure.

“At times I felt like giving up but I couldn’t because I had to keep my eyes on the goal. I had to keep in mind that I was working towards something I really wanted,” said the 19-year-old who formerly attended Springer Memorial before transferring to Christ Church Foundation.  (RG)
