A small fire in the yard at the Belle Pumping Station this morning did not affect operations there.
A release from the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) said there was a fire at the pumping station, but it was confined to the eastern side of the compound.
A team from the BWA, led by Senior Engineer Elvin Jordan and the Barbados Fire Service, responded swiftly and was successful in quickly extinguishing the fire.
Jordan said “the fire in no way affected operations at the station and that the Authority continues to pump water as usual from this facility”.
He thanked the Barbados Fire Service for the prompt response. (PR/SAT)
