The first woman to give birth today, Mother’s Day, also received a helping hand.
At the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH), 40-year-old Dawne Quintyne brought her seventh child into the world around 2:08 a.m.
She said she was relieved that her seven-pound daughter, whom she had not named as yet, had arrived. Hours later, Quintyne was among the recipients of a hamper from the Rivka Cares Inc., a charity set up by Rivka Nisha, a Barbadian living in the United States.
The group donated several hampers to Ward B3 (obstetrics and gynaecology) of the QEH today. (TG)
