Noting that the courts were usually blamed for delays in the judicial system, a High Court judge yesterday gave a civil attorney 24 hours to file affidavits as a constitutional motion brought by a murder accused gets off the ground on Friday.
Larry Patrick Agard (below) has brought a suit, filed with a Certificate of Urgency, against the Attorney General as he claims the Attorney General breached his rights to a hearing within a reasonable time. 
He wants a civil court to release him from his murder charge and order the state to pay him costs and damages for breaching his constitutional rights.
Agard, whose last address was given as Olton Road, Carrington Village, St Michael, is accused of murdering Marville John on June 8, 2006. (HLE)
