Head of the COVID-19 Monitoring Unit, Ronald Chapman, is reminding bartenders that both a mask and a shield should be worn while on the job.

He was responding to a query from general manager of the Cove Bar, Justin Sobers, after the unit shut down the St Lawrence Gap, Christ Church nightclub over the weekend. It also closed the Tease Bar in Worthing in the same parish.

Chapman had said that at Cove, they found several young people partying in a confined space, but not wearing face masks.

Sobers said yesterday that since they reopened, they had made the necessary adjustments, adding the nightclub had about 300 patrons when they were shut down. (TG)
