Man apologises for having guns and ammo

In just over a month, Jamel Orlando Brathwaite will learn his fate for illegally possessing two guns and 43 rounds of ammunition just over a year ago.

Brathwaite, of Kirtons No. 3, St Philip, was back in the No. 4 Supreme Court on Wednesday after he had earlier admitted having a .45 auto calibre semi-automatic pistol and a 9mm auto calibre semi-automatic pistol, as well as the ammunition, on March 19, 2019.

The court heard he has so far spent 720 days on remand. He later apologised “for the situation I got myself in”.

“I am not a person known to the court or to the police station and I would like you to take that into consideration,” he said after he had initially indicated he had nothing to say.   (HLE)
