BWA blames water outage on glitch

The country’s two major utility companies were caught in a back-and-forth over what led to a water outage during the wee hours of yesterday.

Initially, the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) stated that an islandwide power outage had caused its pumping stations to be offline.

However, the Barbados Light & Power Company (BL& P) swiftly denied there was any islandwide outage and said it was concerned by the BWA’s statement.
