ABOUT 47 000 BARBADIANS awaiting income tax refund cheques are being promised that most of them will be paid within the next three months.

This was revealed yesterday by Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler, who told the House of Assembly during the Estimates debate that about 37 000 of the taxpayers, or about 85 per cent of the outstanding refund claims, would get their money by the end of June.

Sources told the DAILY NATION yesterday that about 37 000 taxpayers were due refunds of $2 000 or less for the 2013 income year.estimates-2015
