Ramsey counting on quality

AMERICAN KENNETH RAMSEY isn’t taking any chances in today’s 34th edition of the Grade-I Sandy Lane Barbados Gold Cup at the Garrison Savannah.

That’s the reason why he has entered both Gentleman’s Kitten and Sayler’s Creek for the 1 800 metres race which is slated to run off at 4:40 p.m.

“The best thing would be a dead heat. That way I would have won the Gold Cup three times. I’m not going to pick sides. I’ll take a one-two finish,” Ramsey said jokingly while at the Savannah on Thursday morning watching the pair go through their final preparation.

Ramsey noted that he preferred quality over quantity and believed they would be well represented as he has employed the services of top Barbadian jockeys Patrick Husbands and Rico Walcott. (LY)
