A STAND-OFF between the contractor involved in a big pipe-laying project and management of Rockley Golf Club may delay the programme in the Christ Church district.
The mains replacement programme involving the Barbados Water Authority and Ionics Pipeline Inc. is intended to improve the water supply in southern areas.
Concerned about access in and out of Rockley New Road when the project commences, residents asked the contractor C.O. Williams Construction Ltd to provide them with an alternative road to use, since there is only one way in and out of their neighbourhood.
However, they were informed that management at the golf course was not willing to give permission for an access road to be built through the course.
