PRINCIPAL OF PARKINSON MEMORIAL SECONDARY SCHOOL Jeff Broomes has a drawer full of weapons that have been confiscated from students since he took over at the Pine, St Michael school in 2013.
Knives, scissors, a long iron rod and shanks are among the dangerous weapons seized from students while on the campus.
This was revealed to the MIDWEEK NATION yesterday amidst charges from the Barbados Union of Teachers (BUT) that students were bringing weapons to school without being punished by the principal.
As a result, 25 teachers have decided to withdraw their labour from Parkinson until this and other grievances are dealt with by the Ministry of Education. Twenty-eight of their colleagues remained on the job.
