Glory to BDFSP

Barbados Defence Force Sports Programme (BDFSP) lost the battle, but won the war. They were crowned champions of the Barbados Football Association’s (BFA) Premier League following a 1-2 loss to Weymouth Wales in the final game of the Championship play-off.

At half-time, Wales, who trailed 4-2 on aggregate ahead of the third leg at the Wildey Turf on Sunday, looked on course to complete one of the greatest comebacks of the season.

Romario “Pete” Harewood calmed the nerves of the Carrington Village side, slotting home from the top of the box in the 19th minute to give Thomas Jordan’s men the perfect start to the match.

Walton Burrowes headed past BDFSP’s custodian Kishmar Primus to make the score 2-0 and force extra time as both teams were level 4-4 on aggregate at the end of regulation time. (AGB)
