NIS money blues

Out of work Barbadians desperately hoping to collect their unemployment cheques have been left empty-handed at the start of the year.

The laid-off employees are fuming after not being able to collect their monies from the National Insurance Scheme (NIS) despite meeting all the requirements.

In addition, said one upset unemployed man, he had to pay about $12 in bus fare going from one agency to the next to ensure his registration was in order as required by the NIS.
