Preventative and investigative strategies have helped members of the Royal Barbados Police Force to deal with the challenge of the recent incidents of violent crime, says Commissioner of Police Tyrone Griffith.
He made the comment at the 143rd passing out parade at the Regional Police Training Centre, Seawell, Christ Church, on Wednesday.
“We have had recent challenges . . . as it relates to violent crimes. We can all agree that one of the greatest impediments to development would be the prevalence of gun-related crime.”
He noted that like other countries in the region, Barbados had been grappling with unusually high numbers of gun crimes, especially murder. (RA)
