Daily Devotion
For the world offers only the lust for physical pleasure, the lust for everything we see, and pride in our possessions. These are not from the Father. They are from this evil world. I John 2:16 (NLT) The lust of the flesh refers to desires for sinful sensual pleasure; the lust of the eyes refers to covetousness or materialism; the pride of life refers to being proud about one’s position in this world.
These are issues we must guard against because all the world has to offer us glitters like gold but it is all temporary and underneath that gold is death and destruction. What God offers to us is eternal life.
