Time to pass sexual harassment legislation

Three agencies with a gender focus have urged the Barbados Government to give some urgency to passing laws to counter sexual harassment in the workplace.

They are the National Organisation of Women, the Bureau of Gender Affairs and the Men’s Educational Support Association.

They made the appeal today during a forum organised by the Barbados Employers’ Confederation under the title Sexual Harassment: A Modern Workplace Dilemma at the Baobab Towers in Warrens, St Michael.

They pointed out that it was now ten years since legislation on sexual harassment had been drafted but there had been no reported progress towards getting it on the statute books. (TY)
