Lawyer charged with assaulting police

A LAWYER WILL appear in the District “B” Magistrates’ Court today.

He is 44-year-old Marlon Markland Gordon of Glen Acres, St George who has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm to a police officer, insulting language and three counts of resisting police in the execution of duty.

According to police, around 5 a.m. yesterday, officers responded to a report at Plae, Rising Sun, Christ Church, where a fete was being held and the Jamaican was in attendance.

 It is alleged that while being arrested for an offence, Gordon resisted a police officer and other officers assisted in subduing him.  A female police officer reportedly had to seek medical attention. (PR/NB)
