23-year-old guilty of drug offences

JAMAICAN national Vinroy Hilton pleaded guilty to four drug offences when he appeared in Oistins Magistrates Court recently.
The 23-year-old was fined $5 000 or 18 months imprisonment for possession, possession with intent to supply, trafficking and importation of one pound of marijuana.
According to a release from the Royal Barbados Police Force, Hylton arrived in Barbados on December 9 and cleared both Immigration and Customs at the Grantley Adams International Airport.
However, police suspected he had swallowed drugs. He was referred to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he subsequently passed out 33 wrapped packages containing marijuana.
