Despite some violent incidents, Prime Minister Freundel Stuart is pleased with the Crop Over Festival.
Stuart was speaking to the DAILY NATION Sunday after a dedication service at the new Grazettes Church of Christ, 3rd Avenue, Grazettes, St Michael.
During Foreday Morning, a man was stabbed, a security officer shot in the back and an off duty police officer sustained a serious wound to the head from an unknown thrown object – among other violent incidents – none of which were fatal.
“That’s unfortunate, but you are dealing with human beings and no matter how careful you plan and no matter how optimistic you are that things will work perfectly, as long as human being are involved, you are likely to get these little deviations from the path of right,” the Prime Minister said.
However, Stuart said he thought the festival had gone “generally well” and the public had been enthusiastically involved in all of the events. (CA)
