Use study to refine strategies, says trade expert

ALTHOUGH GOVERNMENT HAS established a framework for the development of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, there are some gaps which prevent small enterprises from reaching their full potential.
And according to Barbados Private Sector Trade Team trade consultant Joel Richards, a recently completed study on the sector can build on Government’s work and refine the strategies that are already in place.
He was speaking last Monday during the presentation of findings of a Barbados Private Sector Association-commissioned study entitled A Policy Framework To Incentivize The Micro-Business Sector in Barbados.
“We have identified some new areas as well that we want attention to be placed on.
“We believe that if the recommendations contained in the study are to be adopted, you’re going to see more coherent, coordinated and targeted policies for the sector.
