Two dead in Demerara boat accident

GEORGETOWN, Guyana (CMC) – The Maritime Administration Department (MARAD) says it has launched an investigation into a boat accident on the Demerara River resulting in the deaths of two people.
MARAD said the collision occurred in the vicinity of Muritario, Upper Demerara River and that 28-year-old Dale Duggin, who was the captain of one of the boats, and his passenger, Williamson Felix died as a result of their injuries.
It said that three people, Telford Lim, Michael Edwards and Travis Gilkes, who were on the other boat, were rescued.
