Water woes hit Naniki

Taps have run dry in most of St Joseph, and so has the Naniki Nature Resort.
Managing director Tom Hinds said yesterday that the ten-cottage property had not had a single visitor all week and he had to watch guests pack their bags and leave because of a lack of water.
And he doesn’t see it getting better anytime soon.
“We are empty right now, and I’m not going to put guests in a position to have them stay here and be soured by the fact that they have no water in their rooms,” Hinds told the WEEKEND NATION.
Staycations, which were at a high during the winter season, kept the property afloat in a tough economic period but fell flat during the Easter holidays because of the water scarcity.
