DEAR CHRISTINE: Don’t need a man to complete me

Dear Christine,
I am finding it hard to take any man seriously, and that is sad.
I am only 21 years old, and the three boyfriends I’ve ever had all cheated on me, although I was faithful to them. I can never trust a guy because guys are, for the most part, all the same. I’m telling you: even the best of the best are capable of cheating in one way or the other.
My last boyfriend thought I was stupid – even though I am a successful university graduate. When we decided to have a sexual relationship, after eight months of dating, we decided on the type of condoms we would buy and the number. I know this may sound ridiculous, but we were so much into each other that we did things like that together.
One day I counted the number of condoms he had next to his bed – that’s where he kept them – and there were fewer than they should have been. When I confronted him, he confessed that he was seeing not one, but two other women. How bad could it have gotten?
My first boyfriend was also seeing another woman and my second boyfriend got annoyed with me because I refused to engage in various kinds of sexual activity.
I have decided that I will remain single for as long as I can, and that I do not need to have a man to complete me.
I do not know about the young girls out there, Christine, but this one has shut shop until she can confide in and trust men again, and until that special person is willing to wait until the “I do” is said before looking forward to jumping into bed with me.
I wish more of my “sisters” out there would do the same. This whole thing about not wanting to buy a pig in a bag is utter nonsense. Most decent men usually have no respect for you afterwards, anyway.
Sisters, lay down the rule and if they decide to go on their merry way when you say no, then you’ll know it was never love in the first place. You would have saved yourself from lots of heartache.
Trust me. I know.
– DEBBIE
Dear Debbie,
Thanks for your well informed letter. You’ve shared from your own experiences and nothing can beat that.
I honestly believe that more women need to have a measure of self-respect and self-worth.
Too many allow men to run all over them, without giving a thought to how they should cherish and value their bodies.
I totally disagree with bunching all men together because they are not all the same.
Ladies, listen to the advice.
– CHRISTINE
