Government is looking to safeguard its business by making use of emerging technologies.
Minister of Education and Human Resources Development Ronald Jones said Government and Cabinet was moving to “E-Cabinet solutions”.
“Every single minister has been issued with a laptop….And everything now will be sent to Cabinet ministers digitally. Of course, I’ve had some consultations with the consultants and….an extremely high level of security as in to track every single footprint relative to who does what, who prints what, who says what, where. Not that we are scared of privileged information being leaked, because in a lot of countries and as politicians we know that things fall off trucks….In this situation we will know who helped it fall off the truck,” he stated.
Jones, who admitted to be as hooked on technology as he is to education, made the disclosure today at the Accra Beach Hotel during the opening of a two-day World Bank workshop on Improving Teaching and Learning Outcomes with Information Communication Technology (ICT) as a cross-cutting Theme.
