It is easy to tell that Wendy Boyce loves Barbados.
From the moment November arrives, the St Philip resident and her house are draped in the national colours, ultra marine, black and gold. But Boyce is not your average decorator.
This month Boyce spent at least $20 000 outfitting every room in her home with pedestals, bedspreads, throw cushions, balloons, curtains and many other items.
“I just love my country. I love it,” Boyce gushed as she also prepared to make special outfits for the Independence season during the month of November.
It takes her almost the whole month to complete the task, but it is time and money well spent based on the excited comments she receives from well-wishers.
“I was doing this for near 20 years. I do this to show Barbadians they need to love their country,” Boyce said.
For such a massive task Boyce called in some friends, Lorna Bryan, also an Independence fanatic, Elliott Husbands and Stevenson Lythcott. (AC)
