THERE WAS HARDLY any sunshine in Barbados yesterday.
But with the island gearing up for Grand Kadooment today, stakeholders were determined that rain would not stop the “jam”.
As the rains came down, flooding some areas, preparations for the big day still continued. From early yesterday many braved the weather to collect costumes from band houses.
People could be seen putting up big and small stalls along Green Hill, Eastmond Corner, Bank Hall, Eagle Hall, Black Rock, Brighton and the Spring Garden Highway, hoping for a bountiful Kadooment.
Yesterday when the DAILY NATION visited a number of band houses band leaders declared that they were ready for the road today. One declared that “the only thing stopping this jam is a hurricane”. (AH)
