Drug alert at shipping points

SECURITY AT?SHIPPING POINTS around the island is being tightened in anticipation  of attempts to smuggle drugs  and other illegal items around  this time of the year.
Head of the Drug Squad, Superintendent Grafton Phillips, told the DAILY?NATION?that police were also on high alert  since people usually tried to import  illegal substances during the Crop Over festivities.
Yesterday, a 27-year-old  Brittons Hill, St Michael woman was arrested by police after she went to the General Post Office  in Cheapside, Bridgetown,  to collect a package which when searched by Post Office officials, contained three dismantled firearms  and a quantity of ammunition.
Two weeks ago, two men  were also arrested and charged  when packages that contained  illegal drugs arrived for them  at the Post Office.
