THE BARBADOS WORKERS’ UNION (BWU) general secretary Sir Roy Trotman didn’t mince words yesterday about his feelings over the stalled negotiations with LIME.
He also made his position clear on the union’s forthcoming meeting with Diamonds International on Monday and talks with Neal & Massy over the severance for Almond Beach Village workers on Tuesday.
Speaking at a media briefing yesterday at the BWU’s headquarters, Solidarity House, Harmony Hall, St Michael, Sir Roy did hold out an olive branch to each party.
He said: “What we want is harmony in Barbados. What we want is for people to get work. What we want is for people to work under conditions that are satisfactory to them and that deliver the goods for the employer.” (SP)
