Employees proud to have called Keith Rayside their boss, stood in a guard of honour as the body of the late former construction magnate was taken to its final resting place at St Thomas Parish Church this afternoon.
Former employee of Rayside Construction Roger Padmore spoke of a compassionate employer who often fired and rehired in the same breath, a man who displayed kindness and was not only interested in making a profit.
Delivering the eulogy to a church dotted with business people like Sir Charles Williams, James Husbands, Everson Elcock and politicians including Minister of Transport and Works John Boyce, Opposition Leader Owen Arthur, Mia Mottley, George Payne, William Duguid and Cynthia Forde, Padmore said Rayside demonstrated his interest in the welfare of his staff in many ways. Padmore said he extended to them the same kindness and generosity that his children enjoyed.
Rayside was also lauded for his humility despite his business success, and for his love of people. (GC)
