Woman of style

How would you define your personal style?
I think my personal style is chic and exquisite.

Do you find that you follow fashion trends or do you play by your own rules?
I do a bit of both – some trends I take pleasure in adding my personal touch to. Every fashion trend doesn’t suit every body type and for me, it MUST suit my body type! This is extremely important.

Has your fashion sense changed over the years or has it remained the same?
My fashion sense has changed somewhat, but even though the fashion industry is constantly changing, there are still some basics and rules that I stick to.

Are there any colours that you tend to shy away from and if so, why?
I don’t really shy away from any particular colour(s). I have a bit of every colour in my closet, but I have a strong preference for red and black.

As a child, were you always into clothes or did you grow into your own fashion sense?
As a child, I was always into clothes and fashion. My older sisters were knockouts back then, and I remember looking forward to when they invited me out because I got the opportunity to emulate them.

How does your day-to-day life factor into your wardrobe choices?
My day-to-day life significantly influences my wardrobe choices. When shopping, I select pieces that can be harmoniously combined with other things I already have and can be worn to multiple events. They must be versatile.

If you could choose one colour that should be in every wardrobe, what would it be and why?
Black – because it’s sophisticated, “slimming” and great for almost any occasion.

Where do you like to shop?
It varies. I shop online – quite often, too – mainly for my shoes. I also shop here at boutiques as well as at the malls.

Five things every woman should have in her closet:
1  A black dress2  A black or white cotton shirt3  Many pairs of comfortable heels4  A nice handbag that can go from day to evening5  One pair or two of great-fitting jeans
