The flashes of thunder, sharp wind and temperature below 20 degrees did little to dampen the spirits of the Barbados Under-17 team, despite losing 0-2 to Boca Juniors Under-17 team.

Playing at the Argentine Football Association’s Predio Ezeiza facilities on the outskirts of Buenos Aries, the young Bajan Tridents went head to head with their Argentine opponents, showing they could match their speed and skills.

In the first half, goalkeeper Brandon Sumpter enjoyed a superb game as he stopped the majority of shots on goal by the Argentines.

Even though Sumpter was out of position at one point as the fleet-footed Argentines launched an attack on goal, left wing-back Andre Applewaite was in the right position to avert danger. (RA)
