Schools to be demolished

SOME PRIMARY SCHOOLS are to be demolished because of decay, Minister of Education and Human Resources Ronald Jones disclosed yesterday.
The minister did not identify the schools as he addressed the morning assembly of Lester Vaughan Secondary School, which he toured to get a first-hand look at its physical condition.
Responding to the observation of the school board’s chairman, Edward Tull, that the 15-year old plant was showing signs of disrepair and some environmental challenges, the minister said:
“We will be doing major work in some of the plants [schools]. Some of them have to be taken down completely, particularly at the primary level.”
